February 2018 Movie Guide

These are my picks (complete with the reason for my choice) for the movies
coming to theaters in February, but feel free to check out all of February's
releases by visiting the Internet Movie Database's Coming Soon page.

week of February 2

Synopsis: Eccentric firearm heiress believes she is haunted by the
souls of people killed by the Winchester repeating rifle.
Why? Thanks to some friends that live in Oakland, I've actually
had the pleasure of visiting the Winchester mansion, so I'm
really looking forward to this.

week of February 9

Synopsis: Three Americans discover a terrorist plot aboard a train
while in France.
Director: Clint Eastwood
Why? Directed by Eastwood.

Synopsis: Feature adaptation of Beatrix Potter's classic tale of a rebellious
rabbit trying to sneak into a farmer's vegetable garden.
Director: Will Gluck
Why? Seems like a fun movie.

week of February 16

Synopsis: T'Challa, after the death of his father, the King of Wakanda,
returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation
to succeed to the throne and take his rightful place as king.
Director: Ryan Coogler
Why? After a bunch of sequels, it's nice to have a new
introduction in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. I'm not very
familiar with the character, but I'm looking forward to learning.

week of February 23

Synopsis: A biologist signs up for a dangerous, secret expedition
where the laws of nature don't apply.
Director: Alex Garland
Why? Looks like a really creepy cool sci-fi adventure.

Synopsis: A group of friends who meet regularly for game nights find
themselves trying to solve a murder mystery.
Why? The concept of game night getting a little too real seems
like a hilarious premise.
