Wild

Director: Jean-Marc Vallée

Stars: Reese Witherspoon, Michiel Huisman, Gaby Hoffmann, Laura Dern

Why? Looks like a compelling story.

week of December 12

Inherent Vice

Director: Paul Thomas Anderson

Stars: Joaquin Phoenix, Jena Malone, Reese Witherspoon, Owen Wilson, Benicio Del Toro

Why? This reminds me of American Hustle but as more of a dark comedy.

week of December 19

The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies

Director: Peter Jackson

Stars: Ian McKellen, Martin Freeman, Richard Armitage, Cate Blanchett

Why? This is the last chapter of the middle earth story. Peter Jackson has given us some epic movies that will live on for generations.

The Gambler

Director: Rupert Wyatt

Stars: Jessica Lange, Mark Wahlberg, Brie Larson, Sonya Walger

Why? This looks really good.  Check out the trailer for yourself.

week of December 26

Into The Woods

Director: Rob Marshall

Stars: Anna Kendrick, Meryl Streep, Chris Pine, Emily Blunt

Why? Despite all of the singing, it will be interesting to see so many fairy tales in the same movie.

The Interview

Directors: Evan Goldberg | Seth Rogen

Stars: James Franco, Seth Rogen, Randall Park, Lizzy Caplan

Why? You should already know what to expect. These guys have been great ever since they teamed up for Pineapple Express.

American Sniper

Director: Clint Eastwood

Stars: Bradley Cooper, Sienna Miller, Luke Grimes, Max Charles

Why? I'm not usually a fan of war movies, but Clint Eastwood and Bradley Cooper have me interested.

Big Eyes

Director: Tim Burton

Stars: Amy Adams, Christoph Waltz, Krysten Ritter, Jason Schwartzman

Why? That director! That cast! This looks great!
