Friday, July 5th

The Lone Ranger

Director: Gore Verbinski

Stars: Johnny Depp, Armie Hammer, William Fichtner, Tom Wilkinson

o    Why? Johnny Depp.  If you need another reason, check Gore Verbinski's resume.

Despicable Me 2

Directors: Pierre Coffin | Chris Renaud

Stars: Steve Carell, Kristen Wiig, Benjamin Bratt, Miranda Cosgrove

o    Why? Because the first one was pretty damn funny.

Friday, July 12th

Pacific Rim

Director: Guillermo del Toro

Stars: Charlie Hunnam, Idris Elba, Charlie Day, Rinko Kikuchi

o    Why? I don't think this has been done before, and this is the director to do it.

Stars: Kelsy Abbott, Hannah Hughes, Lawrence Michael Levine, Adam Wingard

o    Why?  The first one introduced a concept that reinvigorated low-budget horror, and this appears to be more of the same.

Friday, July 19th

RED 2

Director: Dean Parisot

Stars: Bruce Willis, Anthony Hopkins, Helen Mirren, John Malkovich

o    Why? Because the first one was really funny!

R.I.P.D.

Director: Robert Schwentke

Stars: Ryan Reynolds, Mary-Louise Parker, Jeff Bridges, Kevin Bacon

o    Why? Sure, it appears to be a rip-off of the Men In Black franchise, but it should be fun.  Plus, great casting.

The Conjuring

Director: James Wan

Stars: Vera Farmiga, Patrick Wilson, Lili Taylor, Ron Livingston

o    Why? Because James Wan can do no wrong.

Friday, July 26th

The Wolverine

Director: James Mangold

Stars: Hugh Jackman, Famke Janssen, Will Yun Lee, Tao Okamoto

o    Why? Because it's Wolverine, you fool!
