November 2012 Movie Guide

These are my picks (complete with the reason for my choice) for the movies coming to theaters in November, but feel free to check out all of November's releases by visiting the Internet Movie Database's Coming Soon page.

Friday, November 2nd
·         Wreck-It Ralph
Director:  Rich Moore
o    Why? Most of our favorite old-school video game characters seem to be represented, along with some newer ones, so this looks like it will be fun for kids and adults too.

·         The Man With The Iron Fists
Director: RZA
o    Why? Presented by Quentin Tarantino.

·         The ABCs of Death
o    Why? After seeing V/H/S, I'm looking forward to another horror anthology.

Friday, November 9th
·         Skyfall
Director: Sam Mendes
o    Why? Bond. James Bond.

·         Lincoln
Director: Steven Spielberg
o    Why? It looks like Spielberg has created a historical epic, and he definitely picked the right leading man.

Friday, November 16th
·         Go see Skyfall, Lincoln, or The Man With The Iron Fists a second time, but beware of tween fans of sparkly vampires.

Wednesday, November 21st (Thanksgiving Weekend)
·         Life of Pi
Director: Ang Lee
o    Why? Despite your opinion of Hulk (which I liked), I think Ang Lee is a good director, and this looks like a really interesting story.

·         Hitchcock
Director: Sacha Gervasi
o    Why? Between this and HBO's The Girl, there seems to be a renewed interest in Alfred Hitchcock, one of the most well-known horror directors of all time.

·         Rise of the Guardians
Director: Peter Ramsey
o    Why? This looks like an interesting take on some classic legends, and I find it intriguing that Jack Frost is elevated to the same status as Santa and the Easter Bunny.

Friday, November 30th
·         Killing Them Softly
Director: Andrew Dominik
o    Why? Brad Pitt.
