- Snow White and the Huntsman
Director: Rupert Sanders
Stars: Kristen Stewart, Chris Hemsworth, Charlize Theron, Sam Claflin
Why? Regardless of how you feel about Kristen Stewart, this movie looks good and also stars Chris Hemsworth (Thor, Cabin In The Woods) and the ever impressive Charlize Theron.
- Piranha 3DD
Director: John Gulager
Stars: Danielle Panabaker, Ving Rhames, David Hasselhoff, Matt Bush
Why? The first one was fun.
- Prometheus
Director: Ridley Scott
Stars: Noomi Rapace, Logan Marshall-Green, Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron
Why? Ridley Scott is the same director that gave us the Alien franchise. Imagine what he can do over 30 years later with more amazing special effects.
- I don't feel very strongly about any of this week's releases.
- Brave
Directors: Mark Andrews | Brenda Chapman | Steve Purcell
Stars: Kelly Macdonald, Billy Connolly, Emma Thompson, Julie Walters
Why? This looks like it'll be a worthy entry into the Pixar family.
- Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter
Director: Timur Bekmambetov
Stars: Benjamin Walker, Rufus Sewell, Dominic Cooper, Mary Elizabeth Winstead
Why? The concept seems pretty far out, but I trust the director, who also gave us Night Watch and Wanted. Additionally, Scott Pilgrim's Mary Elizabeth Winstead is along for the ride.
- Seeking a Friend for the End of the World
Director: Lorene Scafaria
Stars: Steve Carell, Keira Knightley, Melinda Dillon, Melanie Lynskey
Why? This looks like it will be a dramatically different take on the apocalypse, and I could watch either Steve Carell or Keira Knightley on the screen for any length of time.
- Ted
Director: Seth MacFarlane
Stars: Mark Wahlberg, Mila Kunis, Seth MacFarlane, Giovanni Ribisi
Why? Seth MacFarlane is a comedy genius, and he recruited proven funny guy Mark Wahlberg.
